A good record of "the end of an era." I'm wondering, though, whether deliberate destruction (and likely eventual new construction) really qualifies as "decay." Or maybe just as the darker side of "progress."

Aside from the lack of paint, the boat doesn't appear to be in such bad shape.

Nicely photographed. While the abbey certainly shows evidence of decay, it also is an example of preservation.

Appropriate choice of subject. Maybe too heavy with the vignette; the abandoned sheet almost disappears into it.

Good choice of subject but maybe too much going on. Three areas of windows of two different types, plus greenery in two strong lines and more - all competing for attention. Suggestion: go with just the right hand area of red-framed windows. It's a simpler, cleaner pattern, and the way the green appears to be climbing up from the bottom is a perfect fit with your title.

Interesting building. The intact architectural details draw attention away somewhat from the damaged areas, diminishing the impression of decay. Might it be more effective show how the building is sitting up on blocks?

Good composition, but to me at least, the scene doesn't say "decay" all that strongly.

Nicely shot, but I prefer the composition in your Open version. My same comments on color apply here as well. Other than the graffiti, however, this view doesn't show the building as all that decayed.

Though your info tells us the place is closed, it's not obvious from the image. The tidiness and color of the scene, plus the whimsical nature of the fisheye, give more a feeling of cheeriness than of decay.

Not sure whether this is decay or someone's idea of conceptual art, or if there's a difference.

Nicely composed and executed shot. There are those, however, (I'm not one) who consider graffiti to be artistic expression rather than an example of decay.

Like the concept, but I'd skip the bottom half, which draws attention away from the much more interesting top part.

Interesting subject but challenging, as there is so much going on that the viewer hardly knows where to look. Converting to B&W or sepia would help reduce the clutter, and some vignette could direct the eye toward the center.

Good choice of subject, but might like a tighter crop on the machinery, plus perspective correction. B&W or sepia could enhance the sense of decay.

Well-shot and very colorful, but b&W or duotone might better communicate the idea of decay.

Good choice of subject, but the 3/4 view is rather predictable and so not that interesting. Consider a more unusual viewpoint - maybe head-on and looking down from a ladder - which also could eliminate the distracting background.

The seemingly newly-added steps suggest the house is getting some much-needed attention, conveying the idea of renewal more than of decay.

Like the composition - very dramatic. Reducing saturation, maybe tweaking the hue could add to the sense of decay. As is, the bright colors almost seem cheery.

Well composed and shot. Like the light on the gravestones. Might consider darkening the church slightly to add contrast and depth; maybe warm the white balance a little as well.

Well composed and shot, but the story in the image seems more about renewal than decay.

Interesting idea, but having so much of the image out of focus doesn't work for me.

Well-shot - like the detail and composition. Not sure I would have emphasized the red object, which competes for attention with the box on the table.

Like the simplicity of color and design, as well as the variety in the patterns of broken windows. Doesn't bother me that there's no single center of interest. Nice!

Love the textures and contrasts in the boards.IMO, the screen doesn't add much, but concentrating on just the boards below it or the x-pattern ones to the right could make fascinating images.

Good choice of subject. Some of the patterns in the individual panes would make great abstracts.
