Thanks to everyone for your feedback.

Jade O.: I tried different shutter speeds and this combo. seemed to work best, but you are probably right - a faster shutter would still have worked too.

forkcandles: not really playing anything - just hitting the keys :)

mrsawyer: light was natural, no flash- just window light. I always prefer natural light if possible compared to flash. I also tried this shot using different angles and do have some taken just the way you suggest: closer to the keys and looking down the keyboard with shallow DOF. I like that version too, but decided on this one. I might post that version in the forums after the voting ends.

A good idea for the theme. The lighting seems a bit flat to me. I think a perspective with the camera closer to keys and showing more keys with a shallow DOF would have added interest here.

    Well done. In my favorites.

A predictable interpretation of the theme, but made effective by the movement blur and diagonal orientation.

I like the blurred motion of the fingers - it really adds to photo, especially when everything else is in perfect focus. I think you chose a good angle for the shot as well.

Nicely thought out and composed. Love the movement on one hand. Perfect fit for the theme.

I like your crop and the use of long exposure on this. Nicely done

I'd prefer a classic piano for a classic shot so I find the electronic elements distracting. Overall effectively framed and lit but I think 1/8s would have been plenty to get the blur.
