Thank you everyone for all your nice comments and votes! I pass this farm on the way home every day and finally decided to photograph it.

Jade O ... I did try a vertical crop, keeping the tops of the trees in the pic, but I thought they were distracting. I really appreciate your comments and pov...thank you!

Congratulations - glad to have had you in my TT. My nephew who is a semi-pro photog in the UK wrote to say that he thought this was my entry and it was his #1 although (unfortunately) he is not a member. So it's double congratulations from this family :-)

Great song, fits the image perfectly, very nice classic country scenery.

Beautiful photo. The composition leads me into the picture and into the song. How I love driving on roads like this. Everything works together and makes me feel good.

Nice image for the song title. The compositon is good, but it looks a little flat and lacks 'pop'.

Oh my! Such a perfect fit of music and photo! I love this song and you made me singing it at least a whole day long.

I have it in my TT. It is a good fit between shot and lyric (or at least as I remember the lyric). I would have preferred an actual house rather than a barn visible, but you can't always get what you want.

I love those sweeping bends in the road that invite the eyes into that lovely country landscape with it's rolling green lawns, barns and white picket fences. Lovely image that fits the song title and lyrics very nicely.

O.k. if this is West Virginia I'm going to feel pretty silly but with such an iconic set of lyrics, and such a range of possibilities, I feel this one falls short of a match, probably in part because I have my own mental image of what the scenes in that song would be. But the photo, too, for me, falls a little short; the road, fence, horizon and barn are all perfectly placed but it is the trees, chopped off the top leaving headless trunks, full but hidden behind solitary trunks, half off the page, and reaching into a sky running off the corner of the image which leave me wanting for a more perfect technical composition. Exposure and colours appear bang on.

Really like this photo, fits theme & song. I like how it has just a part of the barn & the winding road, just enough to give it that country feel.
