Thanks all for the comments. Great to see the variety of views. Some things to think about.

Thanks Una for the enormous compliment of even mentioning such an iconic shot in relation to my humble effort. yes Paul Kelly is well worth a listen, very Melbourne.

I doubt a bit on that highlight on the hair... somewhat seems "forced", but also adds a strong point of interest in the pic... oh well. Let's decide: it works :-) And the song is well matched...
I had a nightmare deciding my TT, at least 15 pics going up and down many times... but finally, I've decided that yours is finally in, as I tend to like it a bit more each time I see it. Nicely done, good luck!!

OK, you've gone for the song lyrics rather than the title, which is fair enough, but there is nothing in the scene to tell us that this is actually Melbourne. For that reason, I can't link the image to the song.

Although you've done a good job of portraying a dreary, dismal mood, the subject is a little too far away and the background too busy for the shot to have any real impact. And I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve by highlighting the girl's hair. Better to have cloned out those distracting lights to the left of her head.

I have this bias towards people who shoot in bad weather; there is so much that needs to be shown in rain, cold, snow or wind. I like everything but I thing the highlighting could have been a little less. Well done.

Very nice effects of light and reflections! Very atmospheric photo.
Good fit to this emotional song.

It's Melbourne, it's raining and it's a nicely composed shot with a great feel to it. Not quite certain as to why the selective colour on the hair though. It distracts me slightly. But my number 2 shot, I like it.

The picture: Real class. Paul Kelly again? Like in Dumb Things? Think I gonna listen to more of his stuff. - Your entry is amongst my favourites. Reminds me of Dennis Stock's James dean.

Lovely rainy day in town shot with nice reflections on the glistening pavement. Fits the song very well. I like the selective desat.

The reflections make this pic very nice. My 1:st choice.

I really like the post processing of this image. The reflection on the wet walkway, the highlighted hair and the fact that I like photos of people walking away. This is a favorite.

This is so real that I feel I could walk right into it. It certainly brings the words of the song to life

Very chique, very urbane, very slick, very European Vogue. You've nailed this one! What a great shot!
