Thanks for all the comments and feedback...

John: Yeah thought about that.... most stuff around here is new... good quality, but new... not so sure about the camels though..., might find some old enough... but they not really the most refined animals

Well done Anthony, placed top 10 in your first challenge. Now do they have anything Vintage in Abu Dhabi? Not sure if camels will qualify.

Cigarettes that is.

Unfortunately there are no parallel vanishing point lines so it does not meet the challenge theme. Love the B&W treatment and the very effective sky.

Wonderful texture in the clouds and field. Nicely composed to draw the eye to the VP

    Not a fan of HDR
the top needs to be cropped off or down to emphasis the stream

My only problem with this otherwise outstanding image is that there are two vantage points that compete with each other; the road leading tho the left of the image and the distant structure on the right of the image.

Nice composition, very nice B&W conversion. To me this does meet the challenge topic, but I'm sure others will disagree. This would make my favourites, but since I was with you when you shot this I'll have to leave you out.

Hope you got many comments and will enter in future challenges.

A delightful rural interpretation of the theme.

I like this image a lot but am battling over the vanishing point which is there but not overly obvious.

I like the depth of field in this and the way my eye is led right back into the distance by the little creek/drain. The sky is nicely full of interest and drama.

Thanks for the feedback! valuable input!

eagle1/stevebee: I picked this image due to less geometric nature and my feeling is that the surroundings have as much context to the scene as the focal point [the stream]. I tried different compositions[including different scenes altogether] and even considered cropping out some of the sky, but in my opinion I feel that the clouds actually play a vital role in drawing the viewers eye to the horizon, hence the reason for the horizon being very close to middle.

You can call this maybe a "soft" approach to theme, where the stream, clouds and other features all draw your eye in a more subtle manner into the vanishing point.

Nice composition. The tiny stream does fade in the distance, but it looks to me like you might have put more effort into processing the scene for highlight and contrast effect - rather than choosing an image that would display in a more dramatic way the theme of the challenge. It's still one of my TT.

Love the simple curve of the stream. Great contrasting textures in the grass, sky and water. Very pleasing to look at.

Much less sky would make for a stronger composition, I think. Even though the clouds are dramatic they aren't the nominal subject. If they were, then I would say eliminate most of the foreground. Right now the land are sky are about equal. I really like the curving stream.
