Post-Processing: Using Rawtherapee pushed and pulled all kinds of slides and dials (saturation, usm, contrast, and a bunch of other adjustments). Convert to a tiff to PS and cropped, sized, smart sharpened, and jpeged.       Extra Info: an eared grebe among the reflections.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions. Looking back and listening to you, I wished I'd done a different crop and left it a tad darker. Guess I'll put away the 3368mm lens now. Thanks.

Superb use of the reflective them. You are getting reflections within reflections.

By focusing on the Grebe, you've ended up with two separate parts to the photo. I think it might have been more interesting to see whatever was causing the unusual reflection, even if the Grebe lost importance.

I would have liked to see what is causing the reflections as they look artificial. Cute grebe though.

Looks like it needs some contrast and added colour.

Image looks oddly bifurcated yet I love these shots of two parts each of which could stand on its own and each which looks completely different from the other yet they fit together. Despite some technical issues with this shot (overexposure, lacking contrast), I really like this style of photography.

interesting colors, but overall it appears to be two different images with little connection to each other. Still, it has a surreal quality that grows on me.

The composition is confusing for me. The strong color of the reflection on the right immediately draws the eye, but the direction leads the eye out of the frame. No connection between the bird and the strong patterns of the reflection -- I see it as two separate images.

You have used the ripples on the water to good effect here. The coloured section resembles a painting and adds interest rather than a straightforward reflection in dead calm water. One of my favourites

the picture is still a bit light for me as the animals normal colouring is black?c

WOW! That is one big telephoto, it was really only 400 mm. All the other EXIF is right.
