  #210 The Classical Elements
Entry 1 of 19

shorebreak       ©2018 rd52
Canon EOS 7D       1st place, 127 points
1/1250s, f8, ISO 400, 2888mm, Shutter Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Using Affinity Photo took the raw and added brightness and contrast using curves (to get rid of the overwhelming sparkles), used the clarity filter to sharpen, slightly desaturate, sized and saved as a jpeg for the challenge.       Extra Info: A small wave breaking just feet from the beach.

Congratulations on the win. I love this shot and it inspires me to try changing my approach to shooting waves.

Thanks to all for the comments and votes.
Being an ex-surfer I am always taking pictures of waves, ridden or not.
When the surf is small and the tide is high it often makes for some spectacular shots. You really can't tell how big they are.
Again thanks for the compliments and votes.

Great shot. I thought it was a barrel I see people surf through but your Extra Info tells me otherwise.

Wow! This shot is fabulous, I never would have thought that it was a small wave. Thank you for sharing. Thank you also for making it easy for me to pick my top pick!

That is one very cool looking wave, very abstract.
