Great focus and lighting on the bird. However I find the red railing very distracting, and also how the bird is looking away from the camera.

What a comical looking bird... those big eyes and fuzzy feathers (?) start to distract form what a nice job you did capturing this image. up in my TT

Nicely sharp, the lights are a little blown up but still nice. The red fence in the background is distracting, I would be tempted to clone it out or desaturate it, to keep the attention a bit away from it.

a landscape crop of the birds head with either cropping out the red fence as the base marker. the fence colour although oof catches the eye

Wonderful look. Great sharpness. Unfortunately the red railings detract from the image. I might have tried to clone out the railings. Alternatively, just the head shot.

Interesting choice to be so close in, and you've captured great detail.
Had you considered trying to clone out/ desaturate the red railings?
and maybe drop the highlights slightly?

Like the pose - the slight turn away makes him/her seem to be ignoring you. The railing normally would be a distraction, but here it adds form to the composition, and the the color picks up the reddish tones in the beak.

Lovely clear crisp shot.I love the light on the feathers. Well done.

Backgrounds matter. If I couldn't exclude that railing when shooting, I'd try either changing the color to a dark green or black to blend in with the greenery or clone it out. On the ostrich the highlights are blown out.
