1/1250s, f5.6, ISO 125, 400mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash
Post-Processing: LR: crop, convert to black & white, dodge and burn many areas, clarity, contrast shadows, white increased...       Extra Info: Tried this in color it just didn't work for me, had a image in mind but could not get it. Black and White with bottom tapering off to black is closer to what was in mind.

Great photo! That egret is really "sticking it's neck out!!" I really like the vignette on this, and b&w is beautiful!! Congrats!!

This is my number one. i would suggest that cutting to the subject with some rocks behind and more space in front would enhance a really good photo. Well done.

Your post processing really brings impact to this image.

I like it in b/w, it has the perfect contrast for being better as in color. I would have even cropped some more of the black bottom, to do a square pic - works equally well. Nice job :)

your decision for the bw was correct. maybe a tad more crop at the bottom but not much

Good work, works well in BW.

A very different picture; a great capture of a moment and can imagine B&W was the best choice

Nicely composed and captured; good use of the vignette. Like how the white on the rocks seems to suggest the feathers of the bird.

I can see the problem you had. I think you've done a good job, but I would have cropped it closer to mainly the white area.

Interesting concept. I like the contrast between the rocks and bird, the suggestion of action, and the strong diagonal line created by the rocks. I would crop this image to square to eliminate the pure black area at the bottom which I think detracts from the otherwise good composition.
