Almost did not get the picture. As per my usual routine (wait to the last minute) when I tried to download the card using my card reader the card became corrupted. Had never happened before. Took the card out out of the reader, put it back in the camera, and the camera could not read the card. Thank goodness I had Test Disk with Photo Rec I was able to recover the pics. Besides the Rosary pictures there were about 10 days worth of shooting.

Thanks to all for the comments.

About the heathen, that'd be me. I was raised very non-religiously. Dad was a non-practicing Jew, my Mom was an Easter Day Episcopalian. Even though I don't go to church, I try to live my life as "what comes around, goes around" which I consider to be Karma. I endeavor to live my life obeying the Ten Commandments. Even though I am not a regular church goer it seems the only time I see the inside a house of worship is for funerals, and sometimes happier events, weddings, and baptisms.

About how I acquired the rosary. My mother-in-law was a very devout Catholic who died in July 2015. We still get a ton of her mail. We have gotten many dream catchers from the native Americans, greeting cards from Boy's Town, plus offerings from the Sisters of Charity. Mom had a soft heart and donated to everyone (or so it seems) and we still get numerous offerings from a ton of groups. I think the sisters sent us the rosary. Probably thought this heathen, me, needed it!

Again, thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

So, you are the "heathen"! I was wondering who it was, LOL. At least someone cares about you !!!! And you can tell them you came in tenth in a religion competition!

Nicely taken - great detail, lots of colour, and right on theme.

Nice use of the macro shallow DOF. To wish something, I'd like to see the focus point just a little moved, in the middle of the cross, and maybe some extra negative space to avoid cutting the beads at bottom and right. But the colors are nice and the image is anyway well resolved, good job!

I actually like this as a photograph of what it is. Your technical skills are god. The message is not quite clear to me but it is well taken.

Lovely still-life that fits the challenge perfectly. IMHO, the image is a bit too tightly cropped, particularly on the right and bottom portions of the picture. Nonetheless, it is well illuminated and perfectly focused. In my TT's.

Simple and effective mainly because of your limited colour palette and focus on the cross.

Nice colour combinations, good focus and right on theme.

Like the choice of colors and arrangement of the elements. Consider using a focus point that's a bit deeper into the scene; as is, the sharpest focus is on the closest beads, whereas the more distant elements that offer more visual interest are a bit soft.

Nicely done. I like the way the brilliant red beads frame the cross. In my tt. (I enjoyed your extra info!)
