In help to your query about the G9. It really is too early for me to give the best opinion, but some things stand out already.
The Image stabilisation is fantastic. I have a slight tremor in my right hand and so far everything is tack sharp when hand held done to 30th second. That is a big plus for me. I haven't looked at the GX8 and may have gone for that if it had been available at the time.
On the G9 I also am experimenting with the focus stacking button but need more practice. I like the lit info window on the top of the camera especially in darker light.
I got mine with a 12-60 lens and it is all I need for most general photography. I am going on an urban landscape outing tomorrow and I will just take that and throw in my 7-14 in case.
It is heavy and I regret that but am so happy with it that I put up with it. The view finder is amazing and goes any way you want it including turning the blank cover 180Degs and having the screen on the front then closing after use to protect the screen
It had no built in flash so that was a shock and an extra expense but now I can play with external flash lighting which is fun. It also does not have the auto panoramic stitching which was a disappointment.
My email is tarbit1@me.com if you want to talk more.

That GX7 is serving you well Robert. Sadly I have just replaced mine with a G9. I did love the GX7. Great photo, Congratulations.

Congratulations Robert. You really have an eye for architecture, even when it's upside down.

Good attempt at a dali -like staircase.

Very interesting scene. There is a part that looks like one could walk up the stairs on the right, only to be forced upside down as one reaches the middle portion. Beautifully framed and presented!!

Beautifully composed and captured. The cityscape in the background adds a lot of interest.

Well-executed, with great colors and geometric patterns. It wouldn't have fit the theme, but as a photo, I really prefer it the other way up.

This is definitely my favourite in this challenge. I love the design aspect of it. It seems to be a mix of inverted and straight colour. Very well done.
