    nearly missed the blue star

Thanks - I think you're right. That could well be Neptune, because of the colour and the size. Stars would just be dots (if resolved correctly). I'll check - using the date and the pattern of the orbits.
PS: Hmmm - after checking out Stellarium I guess it's just a piece of space junk. BTW - the picture was taken eight minutes earlier than the EXIF suggests - 23:28. If you want to do your own search...
Just realised, it could be a satellite TV "moon" as it's roughly in the place I point my satellite dish. Sorry if this is TLDR.

I really like your composition. The tiny planet balances the huge bulk of the moon. Great definition on the moon's surface.

I wanted to capture the music of the spheres. I had a shot of Jupiter with about three moons visible - but it was only about 20 pixels across... so plumped for the moon.
As to whether this conveys the idea, the idea was a given.
To simply underline it doesn't pique my interest.
I'd be interested to see how we approach the next challenge on aroma. Will we all be getting our coffee grinders out or an endless queue of proboscises or plant sexual organs?
Either way, it'll be good.

I would not have thought of this as a natural pattern without your comment - an interesting take on the theme

I understand your Extra Info but I fail to see a strong pattern here. I like the image through, took me a while to find the star.

Do you really think the image conveys the idea 'patterns in nature' minus your words of interpretation/explanation? I do think the craters on the moon would certainly be a natural pattern, but they aren't particularly sharp and distinct in this image and your extra info doesn't imply that intent.
