Perfect fit for the challenge. My #2. Would have been #1 but I leaned towards a kinder emotion in another stick figure. I should probably not have let that influence my vote as there was nothing in the challenge to say one should like the emotion that was produced. But I'm sure you understand. The lighting is spectacular.

The more I look at this image, the more I like it.

It's unfortunate that you may have lost some votes because it evoked too much emotion. I think this speaks to how well you represented the theme.

Congratulations on your placement. I think you have described a powerful emotion in a very beautiful and poignant way. I feel very sad for anyone who is in the grip of such despair.

Congratulations on 4th. This is quite a powerful piece. I love the processing and the lighting - especially the lost and found effect.

Thank you all for the votes and comments.
I know some you didn't like the subject matter, but it still brought out an emotion.
I entered this challenge knowing that it I tried to fit an emotion to a photo, it'd be tough.
So I picked an emotion that I thought I could create a meaningful image.

I understand if you don't like the image if it strikes to close to home.
I know seven people that ended their lives early. Two hanging, four by gunshot, one jumping
off a bridge.

I've been lucky, I've never known this kind of despair.

This was for them.

Despite my aversion to hangings (being raised in southern USA), this is so emotionally evocative, and well done, you get my vote.

This certainly provokes an emotion in me, but due to an all too raw family tragedy, I find it impossible to like and therefore vote for this photo. Sorry.

Well-executed, esp. the great lighting. Perhaps you intended to suggest loneliness with the overall emptiness of the frame; if so, I'd move the figure more of center and include still more empty space. I'd rather see some other props - maybe a faded corsage and crumpled love letter - that could fill out the space and help suggest why the figure decided to hang itself.

Very nicely done to give this a very special look. Really like the lighting and the effect you gave the wooden figure. High in my TT.

    Impactful photo.
Interesting use of filters (graphic novel in pse?)
Would be keen to see the original in outtakes to see why / what difference it made

Not well thought through, as it might be too close to home for some people.
