Post-Processing: Correct camera distortion; darken certain parts of background; brought down shadows and brightened the main building and increased color saturation; denoised and sharpened; straightened, cropped, resized.       Extra Info: I shot this same spot about a week ago and entered it. A week later when I drove by it again on the way to work, I noticed that the clock was lit up apparently because the timer had not been corrected after the Daylight Savings Time switch over. I shot this using a smart phone so the image quality is not as good as the original entry but I thought this was more dramatic compared to my original entry when the clock was dark.

Thank you for your comments and votes. I’ll actually got there about two minutes too late. The clouds were redder as I drove up but had turned gray as I paried my car.

The bright cloud on top of the traffic signal distracts from the composition. My first impression was that this was created as a 'colour splash' photo. Love the clouds rising off the hills in the early morning.

Interesting scene with the clouds over the hills in the background, and the lovely old lamp post.

I wonder if cropping to the right edge of the book tower would focus on the more interesting left side of the picture?

Depending on how you feel about such pp, I'd have considered removing the red of the curb and the traffic lights, as they both distract the eye.

I love the way the same colour is picked out in the clouds and the clock. Well caught. I'm glad you did it again. The dark clouds are very dramatic.

Much better to have the clock lit up. The thunderous sky adds interest.

Perfect for the theme. The colorful clouds add a nice contrast to the early morning. In my favs.

I agree the lit up clock face makes the picture. What a beautiful location.

Good idea going back to shoot it with the clock lighted. The orange cloud near the center looks sort artificial, maybe from loss of detail through over-exposure - probably could be fixed in PP, as could the tilt of the tower.

I think that it was a good call to put in the shot with the lit up clock. It really makes the clock the unmistakable subject. High in my faves.
