Bulb       ©2018 ysal
Panasonic DMC-GX7       3rd place, 153 points
4s, f2.8, ISO 160, 120mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropped and straightened; Adjusted brightness, shadow and exposure until desired effect was achieved; Increase color; Sharpened; Resized       Extra Info: This is a small bulb for studio lighting. I hooked it up directly to a 9V battery which did not have enough juice to fully light it. It also drained of power almost immediately and I got this while the coil was not too bright so that I didn't need to use any filters.

Thank you so much! I wish I could have taken more time to shoot this better but I had already blown through two 9V batteries in matter of seconds.

Superbly crisp and well-lit. Effective background.

Great idea for the theme. I try to convince friends to cover the terminals with tape before they throw away their old batteries. This is a perfect image to show them just how much heat a simple battery can produce. They can start a fire very easily! In my favs.

Aside from the fact that this is beautifully captured, I really like the shape of this little bulb. Great detail and colour.

Nicely shot, and suited to the theme. Might like to crop off some of the dark area at the top. At the bottom, I'd either crop off the bit of base that's showing, or else show more of it; as is, it leaves me feeling I'm missing something.

I suspected that bulbs would be a dominant sub-theme of this challenge and I am not disappointed. Well done and perfectly focused, exposed and composed. Congratulations on a great image. High in my favs.
