Panasonic DMC-FZ70       8th place, 109 points
1/125s, f5.1, ISO 640, 132mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash
Post-Processing: Crop, clone out some bits of weed, sharpen, increase saturation, image size       Extra Info: This little cygnet was taking it easy. When I first spotted the pair he was all snuggled down and barely visible. I followed them (and they followed me, hoping for some handouts) and I got quite a few shots. There were a couple of other cygnets with them too.

Excellent picture. The feathers of the mother swan come out nicely. Well composed. Nr 1 in my favorites.

This is a wonderful shot. I am glad you chose a close crop, as it focuses the eye on the two heads . The detail and colour are just perfect. Well done.

Good shot. I like the way you've framed it. Very cute :-)

like this one... in my favorites... possibly adding more contrast or shadow may make the black bird pop a bit more.

This works quite well, from framing to detail to subject matter to composition...maybe a little more canvass to the right as it looks a little crowded.

In spite of the cygnet being slightly overexposed, I love the framing and composition of this bird family portrait.

Just a great natural world shot done with great technical perfection. Very nice.

Great capture. Excellent details. I think a vignette would work very well on this shot.

Very striking shot - love the detail in the feathers. Well done!

So much detail in the plumage, a great shot. I wonder what the birds are both looking at?

Very cute! I've heard about baby water birds riding on their parents but never seen it. In my TT

Impressive capture with the baby on the back and the red beak pulls in the viewer's eye.

I love the interaction here between these two. The details on the feathers are outstanding... I never thought I would say this, but the water is distracting...... It is not so much the water itself, but it is more the color of the water that bother me. It is what I would refer to as color composition. Lovely photo nonetheless.
