Beautifully done - Congratulations

I remain amazed at how well a bifurcated photo can work out. Congrats on coming out on top.

Congrats - I like this better now that I can see it on my own monitor.

Thanks to all for your nice comments and votes. The lighting was somewhat tricky and I deliberately tried to portray the pre-dawn scene. A lot of credit has to go to the inherent beauty of the "Windy City", which provides one with dramatic photo opportunities.

I like the way the lights seem to be contained in that section and the submerged rocks below. What are these posts for? I have seen similar in other photos. Other than 3 posts, the left 40% of the photo seems somewhat empty. I think I would have liked to see somewhat higher saturation of colours and the mark in the lower right corner removed. GL.

This line really leads to city. I think this perfectly conforms to the theme.

Nice view, well composed, in my favorites.

Nice leading lines; well composed. I only wish that the colors were more vibrant. There's multiple hues in this image that might have perked up the effect were they brought out just a bit more. Still, high in my faves.

I presume this is a dawn shot. Not sure I like the brightness on the left but it does balance the city well. Right on theme of course.

A wonderful moody shot that leads the eye perfectly to the city skyline. In my T5

Beautiful. in many ways; colour, tone, the mark of man on nature's canvas and, deliberately or not, a composition that reflects the golden section....

good call with a longish exposure to control the water in this well composed shot. Looks like a beautiful sunrise

Somehow the non-standard composition and framing works here; I say non-standard because the image seems split down the middle, and otherwise unbalanced by the heavy mass on the right and nothing on the left, yet it works. A good effort.

Wonderful shot! If this does not win, I will eat my hat.

nice exposure time set . soft water and the light leading you through the picture

beautiful atmospheric picture, great use of leading lines, both the foreground pilings and the reflected lights which circle the eye back round again.

Great light and composition. Horizon forms a secondary LL to reinforce the pilings. Very nice!

Another outstanding Chicago photo.. well composed with good leading line and the 6 second exposer smoothed out the water nicely.. in top 5
