This should have placed higher, and it's partly my fault. I accidentally omitted it from my Favorites when voting - probably would have had it 4th or 5th. Sorry!

Thank you 'all' for your comments.... I agree with them... hull and shirt are flat just short of being blown-out... also got carried away with the 1/3 rule placing boat very close to the left edge (placed close to bottom to keep as much of the boats trail as possible)... did not have the luxury of time as this was a quick shot while walking the bridge over the harbor... so missed the best exposer and where she was looking.

Nice use of rule of thirds. I like the relaxed posture as the boat glides backward.

Your photo is a classic example of rule of thirds, but I don't like the blown out whites. It is hard to get the exposure right on the boat and get the rest of the pic right. Maybe under expose slightly and bring up the shadows in post processing. GL.

like the idea with the wash but the single sculls is in the wrong place.
maybe a space is needed at the bottom with the right hand oar in the middle.
possible to flip the image

In my opinion the kayak is too near of the corner of the picture.

The lighting at this angle could work if she was facing you. But the strong highlight on the boat and side of her shirt is a bit flat (no tonal range in that area). I think the subject is also a little too close to the edges of the frame, possible sighting more up and right would have been better.

Simple and effective. I like it and right on theme.

Nice job of achieving "Rule of Thirds" balance without slavishly adhering to it. Like the simplicity of the design and colors. Very well done!

An unconventional composition choice. Not sure how well it works with sight lines and subject heading out of frame.
