Thanks for all your comments. The shot was taken with a tripod. I asked the model to hold as still as possible- while texting.

I love the soft light and the way the photo is so typical of the millennial generation. Perfect model too.

    well done on original theme
the graininess works with the choice of speed and ISO
the short but fast movements of the thumb show up well as the catch lights in the eye

Slight yellow cast, so private these young teens, I love it. In my top ten

I really like the mood - calm, intent, and the light falling on her face. The illuminated hands show the only movement and therefore illustrate that she is texting - a very new-millennium activity. ( I would also like to see a black and white version.) In my top 5.

Very tricky lighting to expose well, and you've done a great job. I like the way the fingers are blurred as she texts her message.

As I look at your picture I was going to say that the light from the phone was a distraction, but after looking at the picture for a while, I think it was probably right to include the light from the phone lighting your subject's face. A pretty subject and a very nice photo, I love the subdued light on her face and the sparkle of her eye.

Her face is unbelievably sharp at a 1s exposure... was this handheld? is so, then you have a very stable hand. I like the moving fingers. I would have upped the highlights in her face to match the brightness of her hands / screen. Well Done. I like!

Excellent job of presenting the "millennial with cellphone" while avoiding the obvious cliche. Might like a touch of fill light.

One of my first picks - love the composition, the lighting and the activity which is right on theme. At an exposure of 1 second, it's amazingly sharp while allowing for the movement of the thumbs to show up well. The highlight in the eye is also perfect. Unfortunately, the harsh grain spoils the finished shot. Still in my favs though, kudos to your model.

A good concept, with good lighting and framing but somehow just too grainy in the end result and with a blurred thumb it looks like a few missing technically.
