Congrats. A wonderful image...love the steam on the coffee cup! Achieving this while with a broken arm shows just how good a photographer you are.

I remember turning the handle while my father held the grinder between his knees. Lovely photo.

I like the gritty feel of this photo and you did a good job on the steam, but the falling beans spoils it for me I'm afraid. My eyes keep going back to them as it just looks wrong. I feel I want to reach out and catch them! GL.

I love the subject, but especially the color palate.

Nice vintage feeling. In my favorites.

Really well setup, lighting is very good. Just one thing that bugs me is the bowl and it's un easy balance.

Well arranged and composed. Like the subdued lighting and all the brown tones. The coffee cup stands out and even has some steam rising. Nicely done.

Great subject! I like the tones, lighting and the composition. In my faves. Good luck!

Well composed, good lighting, interesting background ,and you did well with the reflection in the grinder. Is that smoke or steam coming out the cup? normally steam is broader at it's base and less concentrated... but regardless of that... it is a good photo for this theme!

I can taste that coffee. Well composed, richly coloured beautiful detail. My No 1

Sorry some of don't like the levitating coffee container. It is leaning on a glass tumbler. I cloned out the shadow from it. I didn't want to stand the container on its side as it spoiled the composition and also the lighting on the beans.
Neat: Thanks for the lovely comment. The coffee cup is a vintage "made in Czechoslovakia" with a pinetree mark and SD written. I believe it is Desert Scene.
Cookiejar: Cant you smell that the beans are fresh!

Attractive scene; like the color. Good choice of vintage subject. The levitating coffee container seems a bit odd.

Ohhh now this is very nicely done, not only is it a great composition it has mood with the steam coming from that cup, and speaking of which it reminds me of a scene from the bible, would love to know where you got it from, in my faves, could be my fave, haven't gone through them all yet, but so far I can't see why this is not number one or two.

i like the colours here . in my favs the only thing i don't like is the angle of the bean box there is no indication of support. the box on its side with the beans spilling out would have been more realistic

I like how you caught the steam from the coffee!

Sep 4, 2015
This is a beautifully crafted photo that is right on target for the theme. The colors and exposure are really well done. The "steam" from the cup of coffee is a great touch that I almost overlooked.

Only two things keep this from being my top choice. The can containing the coffee beans is tilted in an unrealistic way. It almost looks to be suspended in air. The other detail that I don't care for is the wood trim. I think it would improve the photo if it was level. These are relatively minor details, however, in an otherwise, outstanding image.

Good atmosphere. You can almost smell the coffee !

The grinder looks like the real deal. I do hope the beans are not of the same vintage. The lighting and colour choices are very nice.
