cookie jar.i had about a hundred people around me when the photograph was taken The wall is the outside of the royal The Tower of London so restrictions in movement and time
lower down would have missed the poppy sea
Amerbug thanks for the comments

I like this with the wall cropped out and only the reds which makes it very dramatic.

A worthy sentiment. Maybe a lower angle for the photograph?

I like the contrasts of black, red and white.

I was lucky enough to regularly go past the poppies as they were 'planted' - and it is only when the individual tributes were added that I thought the memorial really communicated about the individual soldiers, rather than the mass, so I appreciate your subject selection.

Must have been quite the scene in real life.

the white bit is the tower wall. i think on retrospect less of the wall would have been better.

Thanks for the interesting back story on the image. Love the black fence and white tribute crosses against the red poppies -- very striking. It would be better if you could have composed without the white wall in the back which keeps pulling my eye from the main subject.

A personal counterpoint to the sea of poppies which brings home how each one represents an individual.
