What a lovely picture! I love the point of view, the way the surrounding environment frames the dog, the spray of snow and the eye contact. Wonderful portrait of your friend.

I'm new to this group, and I was just looking through some old photos. This picture really struck me as beautiful. It's a lovely and dynamic composition. Thumbs up!

    Thank you Mepo and Lo.

Jade O : I found this contest seems legit and helps to fund canine cancer research.

Wow, thank you very much for your votes and wonderful comments.
It was a smooth, pristine snowbank when we started.
On my knees in the snow I tossed the ball over the top and captured her returning. 20 plus tries , with numb knees I gave it one last go and this is it.

Phil99 : Thank you for taking the time to delve into such detail of the image.
You mention a couple of things I hadn't noticed myself.
Serendipity definitely played a part in this capture proving that persistence leaves the door open so success can enter.

Jade O : If I could find a legit contest I would enter it.

Mrsawyer: Love the metaphor.

KJW and RolandB : Good eye on the sky, I should have noticed it.

LO and dk : Ill put the original in the forum

Great angle, and I love the movement of the snow. The pp works very well, but I would love to see the original.

I normally don't like radical PP, but it works well here.

This is another shot high on my list. Only thing that takes away from it is the bluish coloring in the sky in background. I'm sure their are some who won't like the topaz adjustment but I think it helps bring out detail especially in snow in foreground. Very nice.

I liked just about everything about this image very much with the exception of the grunge filter or maybe just the degree. In any case it is still a very high favorite, well composed, captures the moment, and conveys an interesting story. Good job!

And I for one would not interfere with Cocoa... I like the perspective you've captured. Wonder what this would look like without the grunge?

Love the POV here. You caught the determined expression that nothing is going interfere with playtime!

The sky got a little funny behind Cocoa's head. I probably would have cloned out some of it. It's not enough to detract from the fun capture.

This one grabbed me immediately. What a great shot! Nothing I can think of to improve this one. You might have a photo contest winner here!

No. 2 (really a four way tie for No. 1 for me. I really do think you could win a photo contest with this one.)

Great capture! I'd like to see it with less of the grunge effect so that the snow looks more country, and less city.

It's a bit of a long list but I like: the low, straight-on angle, the fact there's eye contact, the action captured (running/'splashes' of snow), the composition (the V shape of the snow path, the balance of similar trees either side - these encircle and frame the subject), the depth of field, the textures captured (the crisp snow, the fur coat, the leafless branches), the humour (the very intense expression compared to the snow on Cocoa's face and taking the whole grab a tennis ball thing far to seriously (as dogs do!)). Inspirational and just so brilliant!

    Crop is a little tight.

I do love the topaz grunge look though, it enhances the snow, hope she didn't freeze those little paws off.

In my faves.

A great character filled shot. Well composed and technically good and you even incorporated action.

The eyes, contrast, and snow in flight make this one special. In my favs.
This is a great metaphor for "Getting the Job Done, No Matter What!"
