I will post the original photo mrsawyer. It was taken at full zoom from the crowd, using a tripod. the speed was 1/400 because I was taking shots of birds in flight. The day was very bright. I did use a global shadow brighten in Photoshop. I also cloned out hats from the crowd in the background.

Nicely cropped, and those eyes sure grab your attention. It's too bad that the pp has caused so much noise in the background.

A lovely photo of the owl, only marred by the noisy background. However still one of my favourites.

Nice bird. A little lacking in sharpness - the colour splotching on the glove tells me something is technically amiss. Maybe better at ISO100?

I was almost totally distracted by the big beautiful eyes! Then I noticed what seemed to be a pattern on the glove. Then I noticed what seemed to be a similar pattern on the foliage. I think the pattern is noise in what were shadows. Sorry if I am incorrect! Please post your unprocessed version in the outtakes after voting ends.

Not sure if you were intending on giving your shot a look of being what appears to me as a painting or if that conditions were pretty bad causing so much processing & noise. Like the look on the owl, those big wide open eyes.

I think I would have preferred the shadows to be darker. The bird is what is important but the leaves and glove look abnormally lightened. Was it a global shadow brighten?

the eyes get you in this picture. your crop could have been tighter to emphases the bird and not the surrounds and glove
