  #122 Bridges and Tunnels
Entry 1 of 23

The Old Stone Bridge       ©2012 leighton w
Nikon D600       1st place, 215 points
1/250s, f16, ISO 1600, 50mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: I cropped and adjusted just about everything In LR out of a RAW file. I mostly used the adjustment brush, what a wonderful tool!       Extra Info: This is an old stone railroad bridge still in use today. There's a park around it.

This may look a little like an HDR, but it's not.

WOW, thanks everyone, this was my first win in any challenge and I'm glad it was in this one. There are a LOT of great photographers here and I feel very humbled right now.

Makes me wish I hadn't sold my trusty FZ-50 so I could join in the fun of both categories. :)

nice framing and composition, the bench and stone work seem complimentary.

Very beautiful. I like the colors and the stone architecture framing the autumn scenery.

The lighting is what wins me over. Very attractive scene. Well done.

I have looked at this image many times, and the only problem I have with it, is the fact that you cut off the keystone. Other then that, is is quite beautiful! Good Luck!

This is such a strong archway that it does look like HDR. It's like a window to the past, with the ornate benches in the background

Like the angle taken to view under the archway

This is a very pleasant image. I like that the camera is looking into the bridge slightly off the center, so that we see more of the right wall than the left. I also like the lighting.

Very pretty shot, love the blue and golden hues, the textures, and the composition. Would have been nice if there had been a little more space between the bench and the right side of the stone tunnel, or if the center of the shot had lined up with just the tree or with the seat of the bench, instead of having the tree trunk and the end of the bench overlapping.

Bonus points for the little leaf pile in the sun!

Nice job of keeping everything within the dynamic range of the camera. The natural framing of the arch draws the eye to the subject quite well.

Very nice use of framing; the angular road and shadow play off each other subtly but beautifully.
