Post-Processing: Sharpened, corrected camera distortion, cropped       Extra Info: Though not ugly to look at per se, the Confederate flag reminds me of America's ugliest war, the Civil War. Inherent in the ugliness was also the attempt of the Confederacy to maintain a system of human slavery, a most ugly institution. (I thought the physical position these flags quite significant.)

Mar 19, 2011		     I commend you for this attempt. The photo as a photo is just fine, but the idea did not come across without the words. But this sort of shot with emotional impact is what good photography is about so I rate the attempt to go beyond the merely decorative highly.

Mar 17, 2011		     Fairly well executed shot though remarkable "stock" in appearance. I like the concept and certainly I thought of trying for a capture with this kind of symbolic or representative ugliness but it is hard to find in the pure stark form you have here. Wish you gave a little more info. on what that flag is doing flying here and the significance you see in the two being together as they are here.
