thanks for comments. mepo and aoc46, i did have another version on my desktop that addresses exposure and cropping. not sure why i didn't enter that one. maybe show it in outtakes.

i liked this right away. i'd like to see it from further away to understand where the palette ends and the picture takes over.
(i had one that did fair last year about this time in a still life theme here. i did find the same artist at our 'art in the park' last week hoping to find him working on something new, but it was too windy for him to set up to paint.)
in my favorites.

great range of brilliant color. probably my top pic.
i know if it stands out from the others in a thumbnail view it is going to do well.

high in my favorites for the color palette. maybe a bit soft on focus but it still works.

well done and in my favorites. i like shots that lend themselves to advertising. minor thought would be to not obscure 'smarties' on the label. also not sure about motion blur of the falling candies. maybe faster shutter?? either way, looks good.

although i'm not fond of the processing, i think it would print well and make a good accent photo for the home or office space.

wow, great capture. i just missed out on a festival that usually has some dancers (not quite as elaborate as these) that come through the crowds during the day.

you always have that special mbbin touch. i could see this as a greeting card with that upper left section ripe for some poetic thoughtful script.
nice work as always from you.

love this shot. i might not be on board with the solitude as it seems a bit crowded out there.
can't tell if they are cormorant or anhinga. neither have oil on their feathers like other water foul so they do this to dry out. the first time i saw one of these, it was on a fence post near a swamp and i did a double take as i passed. thought it had to be some kind of metal or wooden sculpture to be like a scarecrow or something. i think i backed up a half mile to look again and get a photo.

wow, another pro shot from one of my favorite members.
i might have wanted the shot from further back, assuming no other people in the shot. just my thoughts.
lovely photo and i'm sure the family is appreciative of your talent.

dk, thanks for this entry and reference to walden. i'm really surprised that it didn't do much better.
walden was required reading in my high school literature class. i think i had attention deficit problems and hated reading.... thank goodness for 'cliff notes' (sort of the precursor of the whole '... for dummies' booklets.) my literature teacher really knew about transcendentalism and tried hard to get through to us. he was a runner and you could see him on the street or on the track at the field house early in the morning when no one was around. it took me a few years to 'get it', and yes while running. i could find that place of solitude.
thanks for the memories.

wow, nice going bernie! great composition and post processing.
love the person caught by the sunlight.
i spent my 'wonder years' in a very urban new jersey environment. yes there were parks and such to find solitude but a very few of us found the tracks as a place of solitude (when no trains passing). in one direction you could see to the horizon.
great entry, nice finish.

nuevito, sorry i did not enter or vote but wanted to comment on this. i really like it but felt that the bench is robbing the composition and doesn't need to be there. that and little annoyance that the mountain top is clipped. really a fantastic location.
one suggestion (imho).... i find that my landscape shots are better composed when i crouch down. it changes your framing perspective so your foreground is somewhat minimized. and in this case you might have felt that the bench was overpowering and framed thing differently.
again, great location and fine finish in challenge.

      nice going lo!!!
great post processing.
besides solitude, it has a feel of melancholy or loneliness. and i really hope that those feelings are part of your composition and not feelings that you might have to cope with.
well done.
