...always need to test after repair...       ©2009 elliott
Fuji FinePix A820       24th place, 25 points
1/69s, f3.8, ISO 800, 73mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: slight sharpening, resize and crop       Extra Info: still work on these when they need it. .... and yes sometimes i play them (to make sure they are working correctly of course). fighting shutter lag and focus problems with moving ball, the ball hit the lens on the first attempt (wanted to be down in the action). was about to super glue the ball to the playfield but moved camera up to spare lens another shot and settled on this one.

thanks for the comments..... its hard to try to 'fool' a point and shoot into doing something other than what IT thinks is best. a brand new shiny ball and manual focus would have given me opportunity to put me visibly in the reflection on the ball but would have left playfield totally out of focus. i didn't want flash since it washed out the color too much. i did do a few shots with ball in more obvious motion but wasn't happy with my framing on those. the underside of this playfield is equally intriguing with tons of lights and wiring visible... almost entered one with me trying to trace a broken wire... next time.

Looks like lots of fun. A human element might make this image more people 9-5 for the theme..hand, arm, head, ect.

I wouldn't want you to use superglue on this beautiful work of art! But I would have used a piece of tape behind the ball to hold it in place and avoid the blurred effect OR I would have slowed the shutter to create a ball in obvious motion so that the blur was obviously deliberate. But I love the colour and composition and find this is a very interesting image. If you repair these, I've bet you've seen many fabulous machines; I've always thought the best of these belong in galleries of modern art.
