Simple, powerful and grand. Good use of shadow to define the shape.

Just magnificent. I've seen a lot of photos of the heads at Easter Island, but this one really nails it. Great composition, turbulent sky, wonderful colour. The play of shadows really adds life to the figure.
I was reading recently where archeologists have discovered torsos beneath the earth, and are now carefully excavating to determine what they mean.

Great picture - composition and frame shape makes it really powerful, with the great colour contrast between the three elements. Perfect shadows on the head itself.

just because a photographer has a great subject, doesn't mean they'll get a great picture - which you have done here

nice work on your pp skills. must have been fascinating place.

watched a movie called rapa nui some years ago about this place. somewhat fictionalized of course, but entertaining and the location is incredible. how did you get there and how long did you stay.

Very nice tonality and good composition. A very isolated island with a strange and tragic history.

you can imagine the first explorers seeing these faces. To the locals of course they are family.
you have captured the starkness very well here

You can almost sense the isolation.

Nicely captured, composed, and exposed but a little stiff. I would have preferred a wider framing to emphasize the expanse of the scene; the subject looks a little squeezed to me.
