Neat I've commented further on my entry but for those who don't see it, evidently my votes did not tabulate. Had they done so Neat would have had my second place vote which I think means she would have finished in 3rd position ahead of me (and as I said below, I think this beautiful image deserved to rank ahead of my hack shot!).

Congrats on your finish; this was way better than fourth IMHO.

Congrats on a simply wonderful image. I wish I had the "feel" for this type of photography. You have done it so well!

What a beautiful memory. You've created a lovely effect with the high ISO. I like your choice of soft sepia over B&W.

@jadeo, thanks for your brutal honesty, lol...but at the end of the day it was a photo shoot, picturing a newborn, that’s all, wasn’t meant to be anything else 😉

    Outstanding b&w study. Nicely composed.

Outstanding. I love the emphasis on the hands. I think that the sepia treament adds warmth as well. Great job.

On the one hand this is so very technically professional it will probably end up in top place. On the other, it seems to be so unnaturally posed (who holds a child like that in real life?). This tension is the struggle for me. Do I rank it number 1 for quality, or do I hammer it for appearing, to me at least, to be overly sentimental and contrived?

@jomari - Thanks, when do you want me to come around :)

Super sweet. Love the tonality. The only tiny compostion suggestions would be to leave some room between the baby's finger tip and the bottom of the frame and maybe position the baby's head slightly off center to the left.

Boy, I love this shot! Top pick, easy choice.
In April, I will become a great-grandmother. I would love to get a shot like this of my first great-grandchild.

What a heavenly expression on the baby’s face! Beautiful shot. Perhaps crop out much of the arm on the left.

I love the high key treatment which really transforms this into a very beautiful shot. Perhaps a little too much forearm on the left which I feel distracts from the child a bit (I'd crop about 1-3/8" off the left, but that's just personal preference). Oh and move the child up in the frame a touch (The fingertips are being cut off the left hand). Sorry for the criticism, but this is such a great shot, I want it to be perfect. Definitely a case of "those who can do, those who can't become critics" :-)
