Panasonic DMC-GX7       3rd place, 122 points
1/250s, ?, ISO 125, ?, Manual, Pattern, flash

Post-Processing: levels; decreased shadows, decreased highlights, increased contrast; curves; crop; filter - unsharp mask; cloned out dust spots       Extra Info: Water drop image was captured by external flash directed at a white background directly behind a black plastic tray filled with water. External flash was triggered by the GX-7's shutter, set to 1/250sec. Wireless remote was used to trigger the camera. The rest was left to chance and infinite patience.

It has been a while since we've had such a photo. Kudos for executing it so well!.

I would like this better but for the buff coloured areas that look like debris in the water. The one to the right of the drop looks like a cup cake wrapper. Also in front of the drop, there is a reflection that looks like a piece of plastic in the water. Beautiful capture of the actual drop and the column of water, lots of great detail.

I expect there were many takes. It is well captured although cliched. There are two rather strange light areas with very sharp edges in the water that are so different in appearance from the rest of the water's surface as to detract from the image. Perhaps a reflection from the flash?

a simple water drop but with good techniques

Definitely an accomplishment to catch a water drop. I would suggest cloning out or softening the hard edged bit to the right of the drop as it draws the eye away.

Perfect timing. Suits to the topic. In my favorites.

Well done Robert! (I think). Perfect for the challenge and well taken.

A water drop is indeed a simple subject, but the stop-action - plus the technique involved - makes it seem complicated. Well-executed, nonetheless.

Beautifully taken classic subject. Fits the theme.

Nicely done! A good image for simplicity (I bet it's not so simple to achieve!) In my faves.

I know about the infinite patience required for these, because I've done this!! This is nicely done, I like the simple colors and very well focused. In my TT

Please share in the outtakes how you set up the dropping water.
