Post-Processing: Cropped; adjusted brightness slightly; adjusted tone until I got the look I liked; sharpened; resized.       Extra Info: Blue cheese. It was quite stinky.

Thanks for all the comments and votes!

Personally, I love very shallow DOF closeup images. But based on most comments, apparently that is not shared by all. I'll keep that in mind the next time!

It is always stinky, but wonderfully tasty as well. Well portrayed.

Good find for the challenge and shot well. However, I think adding a little something else, like something to spread the cheese on (such as some crackers) would be a plus. Still in my favs.

This certainly evoked memories of blue cheese. Surprisingly, it tastes wonderful in a salad made with apples and raspberry vinaigrette.

Good choice - I bet it tasted good too!

I like the idea of your pic, in my favorites, but I think I'd like to have seen the cheese more in focus.

Suits to the topic, but more dof would have been better in this picture.

yuck. Don't like the smell and can't stand the taste. Stick a bottle of anti-emetics in the shot and I'd feel better...

I can imagine the smell, but I think all of the cheese should be in focus.

With the background slab out of focus, it took a moment to recognize this as cheese. The crumbly bits looked at first like some kind of rice mixture. Try a smaller aperture for more depth of field.

Surprised any was left. Not keen on the lighting - but speaks to me in great depths of stink!

I do not like blue cheese precisely because of the smell; however, I like the idea behind this image. I am not sure that the soft background helps. I wonder how the image looks when the entire piece of cheese is in focus?

Depth of field in a little too tight to my eye.Could focus be a little sharper? It evoked the smell effectively.
