Thank you all so much for the congrats :-) . I'm really happy to have done so well.

ysal - Sorry, I didn't take any photos of the setup as it wasn't very exciting. The kiwi was placed on a black piece of Perspex and lit directly from behind with a torch resting on the Perspex. I used a much less powerful torch to slightly light the front/side and I think the kitchen strip light may have been on or not. It's hard to remember as I tried sooo many permutations of lighting ;-) . There was black material behind the kiwi and torch to provide the background.

There is a less edited shot of a hairier kiwi from the first punnet on the outtakes thread.

I'm really pleased you all like it. It didn't turn out quite as good as I'd imagined but you get the idea of what I was after.

I'm sure the rejected kiwis are green with envy. Love the simplicity of this shot and the vibrant colour against the black background. I like the inclusion of the small bit of reflection at the bottom. It adds interest to the composition.

Thanks you all very much for the great comments :-) .

RobertLavker and davemisunas - I wish that were true. Of the two punnets I bought only 2 kiwis were edible as the others were way too over ripe :-(. I think it was due to the mini heatwave we had over here.

ysal - I hope you came down on the side of 'adding' ;-) . I tried the whole reflection and no reflection but thought this partial reflection was the best balance.

Beautifully done. I imagine you are now sick of kiwi fruit. It was worth it.

Gorgeous shot, great detail and colors. Very high in my TT. I'm trying to decide if the reflection is adding or distracting....

Thanks so much both :-) .

Elliott - Yes, it's mainly backlit but with a little light from in front to the side and above to help with the catch lights on the pips.
