have plenty others somewhat more 'sparkly' from this evening especially with the holiday lighting all around. but this was my favorite. i like the contrasting elements left to right. almost like two separate pictures but together it makes more of a story for me.

well there were some big lights. and lately with my eyes, a lot of lights look like this all the time anyway.
i was reading the comments today and started second guessing my entry. i tried to re edit my entry with cloning and even putting in a different street for background without big starbursts. (shouldn't second guess).
it might help if this is viewed in thumbnail size only... smile.
happy holidays and cheers to all!!!

I had this placed higher. I still like the contrast between the bright stars and the street performer.

I've never seen starbursts that large before. The top three are so overpowering, but I love the idea you had here! Did you take any of this scene without the star filter in place?

This is a great street portrait, and \i love the angle you have chosen. For me, the start effect is a bit overpowering, though I really like the idea of what you are trying to depict.

I like it. It tells the narrative of social separation while attempting to join in with the celebrations.

I love the composition and the "story" but the "sparkle" is too glary in my opinion.

Great street scene, but the starbursts are just ugly.

I like the contrast here. The star bursts are garish, and the street performer is simple and low key. In my TT.

I like the low PoV which makes the most of the subject. The OTT starburst effect works in this photo as it serves to highlight the contrasts between the two sections of the image. In my TT.

I am a fan of street photography and I think the man on the sidewalk is a good street photography example, however the starburst is not effective. It is a pity as with a little more effect, less the "star filter" you might have captured some lens starburst, which would have looked much more natural and more subtle while meeting the challenge requirements and retaining a good street photography feel. This is in my favorites but I think it is fitting to say that this would have ranked much higher with me if it wasn't for the overblown star effect.

Like the POV and the composition, but the stars are so bold they almost look like solid objects that threaten to attack the musician.
